After monitoring the websites and seeing the trees bending outside I
decided to slip away from work 30 minutes early. Since my previous
fruitless after work treks to Weymouth I made the decision not to bother
unless the wind was over 20 knots and the forecast was good - well it was
25 knots when I set out and bugger all when I got there. To make matters
worse some roads were closed and the traffic stationary as the Red Arrows
were doing a display, talk about a busmans holiday!
Decided to go for it as the roads would be packed for a while. Others were
out on 6.0 to 7.5 with some planing. Had a few runs on the 6.2 but only
managed to get planing on the way in, off a wave. Even the kites were
struggling, I really should have stayed at work and built up smartie points
for the next windy day.
